Signs posted stated 2 people in the waiting area, which at some point had 8 people there waiting for takeout.Īnd finally 2 gentleman walk-in one without a mask drinking a natural ice beer. Were the signs and precautions that were posted for Covid and how much people weren’t abiding by them nor were they being enforced. Our last three dishes arrived and were delicious, but by then I had lost my appetite. Which would have been ok if we were able to get a new one, but we weren’t able to bring it to there attention till we were ready for the bill. Until my second serving of sticky fried rice had a hair in it. First two dishes arrived and they were delicious. We noticed a little roach crawling on the wall and just blew it off like we expected it. We then waited another 30 mins to get a waiter to the table. We had to ask for clean tea cups, because 2 of the ones we had were dirty, which was expected.

We were then seated because the restaurant was pretty empty, like it was since we first got there. were then asked for our address and phone number and if we all lived together, and our temperatures taken. The food is delicious, but the service this time was ridiculously over the top bad! Put our name in and waited 30 mins before I went back in and asked how much longer it would be for a table.

#2- Please learn how to pack To Go orders. So where do I start? #1- Please hire more people for busy shifts. Suffice to say my trunk now smelled of garlic sauce. Sure enough, my To Go order was sideways. I typically give a 20% tip but could not in good conscience give them a tip. This was around 20 minutes past my 30 minute pickup time. Finally I asked if I could cancel my order. I started to get worried as I parked in a 3 minute pickup zone. I was instructed my order would be ready in 30 minutes. I ordered takeout directly from their site. However, I am unable to remain supportive about this local restaurant’s profoundly poor takeout service. I join in that belief that delivery services offer the restaurants little to no benefit. This was aligned with their beliefs that delivery services were bad for their business. one of those times!! I was suckered into ordering To Go from this restaurant as they offered a 10% discount on pickup orders. However, on extremely rare occasions I will write a bad review so as to alert my local neighbors about something profoundly bad that may hurt them. Wow! I really prefer to only write positive reviews as you know if you read my reviews.

Other winners include fried tofu skin wrapped around shrimp ($4.25) and, for dessert, a bun filled with a sweet egg custard ($4.25). Shu mai ($3.75), often small and disappointing at other restaurants, are here meaty and substantial. The Shanghai-style dumplings ($4.25), meanwhile, are delicate, wrinkled creations, filled with a rich, porky liquid. Justin and I abide by the wisdom of the chef's thumbs-up, and, for the most part, it doesn't steer us wrong. Pan-fried dumplings stuffed with chives and shrimp ($4.25) are exceptional, bursting with flavor. It's a terrific spot for a quick business lunch, but it's also not so hectic that you'll feel rushed if you want to linger over a pork bun with your special someone. My friend, Justin, and I are dining at the King on a Wednesday around lunchtime, and this place is packed, so packed that we have to wait a few minutes for a table to clear out.
